Dental Patients and Nickel Allergy

Early in my career we worried about dental patients who were allergic to metal, specifically nickel. The concern was with the base metals we used in porcelain fused-to-metal crowns and the frameworks for partial dentures. You may think that due to the advent of implants and all-ceramic crowns this is no longer relevant. However, I will share why this is still an important question to ask.
