Oral Hygiene Evaluation

01.27.17 | by Mary Osborne 2 Comments

Ever wondered what you would do if you ruled the world? One of the things I will do is eliminate chart notes that evaluate how a patient is doing with their home care.

How do the notes we put in patient records regarding their home care help to support a partnership that moves them toward health? Instead of judging patients’ efforts in home care you can help them become more effective. You can learn to:

  • Empathize with their disappointment
  • Affirm their efforts and effectiveness.
  • Express your concern with accuracy and compassion.
  • Offer individualized information and support
