Successfully Integrating Dental Sleep Medicine

Posted on: 09.05.21 | by Todd Sander

Color graphic of airways in male's head Many dentists are interested in providing dental sleep medicine therapy to their patients but often struggle to integrate these services in their restorative practices. This leads many practitioners believing they must choose between the practice of restorative dentistry and dental sleep medicine. This does not have to be the case. A comprehensive restorative practice can provide a favorable structure for the practice of dental sleep medicine and the two disciplines can reinforce each other leading to thriving practice growth and better care for our patients. In this presentation, Dr. Sander will look at what it takes to successfully integrate dental sleep medicine into a comprehensive restorative practice.

Learning objectives

  • Effectively schedule sleep medicine patients in a restorative dental practice
  • Create systems and train dental team members for a smooth sleep treatment workflow
  • Follow a stepwise process to develop interdisciplinary relationships with physicians
