In the game of golf a mulligan is when you need a do over. Usually you have hit the ball way afield of where it needed to be and don't want to take a penalty stroke and the extra stroke to get the ball back in play. In dental practice there have been lots of times I wished I could take a mulligan and get a do over, but there is not going back. We only get to go forward, try and recover from the bad stroke and then hopefully learn from our mistakes.
