Understanding the Relative Dentin Abrasiveness, or RDA, of toothpaste, is absolutely crucial when it comes to recommending the best toothpastes for our patients. A toothpaste's RDA is public knowledge, and researching the RDA of the toothpaste that a patient is using can help us paint a clearer picture of why certain patients feel dental sensitivity, especially while brushing. The same goes for patients with more delicate restorative material in their mouths, such as ceramic crowns, ceramic veneers, etc.
