In this video Dr. Lee Ann Brady discusses and demonstrates how to set the articulator and create a reference to the patient's vertical dimension of occlusion.
Centric Occlusion, or how the teeth touch with the condyles seated, most often occurs at an open vertical as compared to maximum intercuspal position. When we complete a trial equilibration we want to have a reference to the patient's original VDO, so that as we adjust the models we can answer the question of whether the equilibration will alter the vertical.
